Air-Cooled Trade-Off
Comparing air-cooled and liquid-cooled generators is like comparing a motorcycle and a car.
Comparing air-cooled and liquid-cooled generators is like comparing a motorcycle and a car.
Generator engines are specifically engineered for one purpose. They are engineered to run for the long periods of time required during a prolonged power outage.
While air-cooled generators occupy a smaller footprint than liquid-cooled ones, they run at a higher RPM. Air-cooled generators are cooled by the surrounding air flow like a motorcycle engine whereas liquid-cooled generators have a radiator for cooling just like your car. Because the engine is running at a higher speed, it is louder than even a larger liquid-cooled generator.
